TEHRAN, (Shana) -- Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh says Belarus has expressed willingness to increase its oil purchases from Iran.
The European country has so far imported two oil consignments from Iran.
Mr. Zangeneh received visiting Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus Vitali Mikhailovich Vovk in Tehran on Tuesday.
Following the meeting, the official said Belarus has so far purchased almost two million barrels of crude oil from Iran.
"Belarus wants to buy more oil from Iran and further negotiations regarding the matter will be considered by the International Affairs Department of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC)," Zangeneh said.
Vovk visited Tehran at the head of a delegation from Belarus to join the 14th meeting of Iran-Belarus Joint Economic Committee at the place of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (PMO) on Monday.
